IVP4406: Methods & Materials (5) - painting techniques

teacher's sample on the 6 techniques to be learnt in 3 hours.... he really think i'm 神童 oh

anyway, i din know that's there's cool blue vs warm cold and the same goes for red and yellow.... the way to distinguish the two is either put the two bottle side by side or add a little white to the colour.... that mixture that gives a more greyish tone (left) is the cool blue while the right one is the warm blue....

(i) glazing - painting multiple layers to create a realistic painting

teacher's demo:

1st layer

mine.... how come so dark ah????...  poisonous apple in the making..... =S

demo of 2nd layer

mine, after 2 layers.... not too bad i would say... =)

(ii) wet on wet

mine.... i likey.... very cute and pastelly sweet...

(iii) blending

david's ....
use ur palm to cover half of the apple.... the right half is looking deliciously good as it had been layered at least twice (i think) while the left half was left in its first layer to show contrast....

mine.... super in my own world of colours and layering... =S

(iv) pointillism

mine... why must mine always be so evenly spread???? i know... cos i'm a libra....

(v) impasto

(vi) knife method

did additional homework under the guidance of mdm zakiah and mark... and i am rather happy with the end result... especially the blended apples cos they really look apple-e enough based on my standard... =)

knife method

apples painted with the impasto and knife methods all turned into poisonous shrivelled prunes.... wahahahaha....
