too short a trip to Hua Hin

Thailand is the only country that i visit almost every other year since 2002... but nothing beats this year... i made not 1 but 2 trips there just within the second and third week of the June hol... first one was a one day trip for me (only) to Hua Hin with ms loh ...

we gotten the flight at $180 via jetstar... was super impressed with jetstar's super no fuss self check-in and bag drop services at the airport despite not doing any online check-in....

bought online bus ticket from Bell Travel Service at S$13.95 that brought us straight from Suvarnabhumi airport to Hua Hin town centre in 3.5 hours.... bus ticket costs only 265 baht (S$10.30) over the counter located next to gate 8 @ level 1 of the airport but may run the risk of not getting onto the next leaving bus....

for us, the next leaving bus was at 1.30pm, an hour after our flight touched down at Suvarnabhumi airport and about 20 mins after we reached the counter... if we had not made the online booking, we would have to buy the 3pm ticket as the 1.30pm tickets were all sold out.... the bus was a 24 seater coach... super comfy with an on-board toilet... avoid seat #24, the one directly outside the toilet... =P

paid a cab driver 150 baht (S$5.85) to ferry both of us from hua hin bus terminal to our accommodation which was less than 5 minutes away.... 有一种被砍菜头的感觉... =S... but what to do, couldnt spot the landmark that the host asked me to look out for in order to take the local bus at only 10 baht (S$0.40)each...

our accommodation only cost us $86 for 3 nights stay via airbnb.... super good deal lo....

it's a very simple one air-conditional bed room that sleeps up to 3 paxs

and one open-air backyard

it also has a small indoor dining area

and a rather spacious toilet/bathroom

asked the hut caretaker about engaging a driver for day 2 and he happily offered his service at 1600 baht (S$62.15) for our activities that starts at 8.30 am to about 6pm ...his name is Nong and can be contacted at 0817594190

we were out looking for dinner at 6pm and realised that this part of Hua Hin was very quiet.... mood was super awkward so 便便走了一下就‘青青菜菜’地解决了晚餐...

cute and friendly puppy free roaming in the family restaurant

we were back in our hut by 7.30pm and starred at our phone and ipad all the way till bedtime at 11pm for me...

woke up at 5am and couldnt get back to sleep.... so used the time to wonder what should i do to survive the next 7 days of super awkwardness.... think think think and decided to do what i do best.... siamzzzz!!!!... get away from the source.... and so, i used the next 3 hours to firm up what i termed 'the fastest and safest' route from hua hin back to Singapore alone...

first i got the driver that we had engaged to drop me off at the mini van station before ms loh continued with her explorations....  managed to catch the 9am mini van to victory monument bts stn in bkk at 180 baht (S$7) ... journey was about 3 hours with a 10 minutes petrol refill + toilet + snack break in between.... then i took the bts and mrt (another 45 mins) to reach Suvarnabhumi airport where i bought a new flight ticket over the jetstar counter at 5553 baht (S$215.65) to return to Singapore...

reached Singapore at 6.40pm and mr ang came to pick me up.... happiness!!! and bumped into Michelle and her family.... we were on the same flight back yet we only saw each other after check-out!!! .... wahahahhaha....

my shortest trip ever - 27 hours in Thailand.... =S

but no fret..... a promised was made to go hua hin during the sept or dec holiday this year to utilise the itinerary that was planned and am off to bangkok tmr with 蔡 mummy and alfred..... wahahahhaha..... a rather last minute decision just so that i can still enjoy my bkk shopping, night market visits, desserts at After You cafe and the Husky cafe this june holiday....woohoo!!!... i luv how everything still gets work out perfectly fine!!! =D
