From Taipei to Singapore

From Taipei to Singapore
(18 June 2012)

flight at 230pm.... need to leave taipei at approx 1145am.... so chop chop head back to 洪妈妈's favourite eatery at ximending to have our breakfast..... our 3rd meal here in 3 days....
i think we were the first group of customers of the day.... and we had been returning so often that the workers there could even recall what we ordered the previous meal..... =P

was initially very moody that the highly anticipated taiwan trip was over liao.... and that the very next day was a work day.... been travelling so much this June that i felt that i had not rested at all lo.... my idea of being rested is define as having a stretch of at least a week where i can just nua at home doing nothing that requires me to think..... i quite like a 放空 brain.... heeee

then why suddenly both of us look so happy here leh???

cos we decided to become paparazzi ..... but failed miserably la.... we were trying to take a pic of the person sitting behind us.....  gave up after numerous try....

Mr Ang got up and pretended to take a picture of me....but u can see that the main focus was not on me at all lo.... .hahahaha.....

can u recognise who is he???? he's very famous de oh....

and this is his younger brother....
if you love singlish..... u will know them... heee

like a little fan, i was going goo-goo-ga-ga over how cute the both of them are until Mr Ang decided to 脸皮厚厚地上前要求合照.....heee.....
第一次跟名星合照噢.... =)

by the way, they can speak good English and from their facebook updates, they can type good English too.... =)

went for 'lunch' before boarding the plane cos we budget trip = no free meal onboard ... there was a Monday promo of buy one free one for beverages....  =D

my vanilla latte and coffee cake

with this post, my taiwan trip is officially over.... sob sob.... ='( ....  so where should i go next leh???..... there seems to be a super long weekend in august oh.... 4.5 days....woohoo.... followed by 1 week break in sept..... =D..... holidays make me love being a teacher..... oopx.....

Steamboat dinner + EZ5

Day 6 - Steamboat dinner + EZ5
(17 June 2012)

back to ximending after a whole afternoon in danshui .... though we had stayed in ximending since the night of 14 June yet it's the first day on 17 June that we see such a huge crowd due to the good weather..... it's also the first time i have my hands available to take pictures while at ximending cos i was not holding on to my umbrella.....

no rain means all the street artists will be out.... one out the so many interest craft stalls just outside the metro station exit...

and also one out of the many snacks stalls just because there's no rain....

this red bean paste inside some chewy chewy stuff....

Search search around and decided on this place to have our steamboat dinner...=)

Attack!!!!

kimchi soup base for me.... yum yum!!!! they have 5 other favours which i dun recall at all.... oopx......

brings back childhood memory as a kopi 小妹  at mummy's canteen ....awwww......

1 out of the endless trays of meat for Mr Ang

movenpick ice-cream....i had 6 scoops.... wahahaha

their version of yacult....

cleared the table full of food... =)

a very happy Mr Ang after a hearty steamboat dinner.... =D

took cab from ximending to EZ5...cost us around NT$220(S$9.50)...nearest train station is liuzhangli

we were here on Friday night at 945pm.... just in time for the first performance, only to find out that all the tables were taken .... we were told that we could choose to stand around and enjoy the performance and wait for ppl to leave at the same price of NT$800 (S$34.60) each... of cos we dun want la.... pay so much to stand around.... concert meh???

so we asked if we could reserve a table for sat and was told that it was already fully booked a week ago as 彭佳慧 was performing... so the next best alternative was on Sunday night at NT$700 (S$30.30) each...

our ticket with 2 coupons that can be exchange for 2 snacks and/or non-alcoholic drinks

it's a very small lounge that fit about 20 round tables packed very closely together ...wonder why are 彭佳慧 an 黃嘉千 willing to sing in such a small venue.... hmmmm.....

even on a sunday night, the place was packed.....

the keyboarder getting ready on the small small stage packed with keyboard, drum set etc etc....

happily snapping away until one of the waiter told me that photography is not allowed when the performance starts....

and the performance was awesome.... all the singers' vocal were damn power la...

the first singer was PIN.... she sang so many so many 超好听的 english jazz song....

the second singer is a 动力火车 look alike who can really 带动气氛 lo.... we were super 'cold' in the beginning.... but all participated 'warmly' in the end cos he wouldn't take no as an answer.... hahahaha.... he would repeat and repeat until the whole crowd respond in the volume that he's happy with..... >.< !!

the 3rd and final singer of the night is a  蕭亞軒 look alike.... thin thin pretty pretty and can sing.... =)

this marked the last night in Taipei..... so sad.....

Danshui + Lovers' Bridge

Day 6 - Danshui + Lovers' Bridge
(17 June 2012)

The sunniest day of all....so to danshui we went....

while @  淡水老街,  洪爸爸 photobombed us when 洪妈妈 was off at one of the shops buying fruits and biscuits.... =P

nothing much at  淡水老街.... kind of disappointed... =S

off to Fisherman's wharf on bus R26 (15 minutes bus journey) after a quick round at 淡水老街....

very considerate feature on their bus...

在情人桥前拍照就会是一辈子的情人哦

两对洪情人... =*

great for the hot weather but not nice de.... =( ... too icey kind... i prefer the creamy kind of mac....

the owner dyed its ears greenish-blue

decided to have our portraits drawn by one of the street artists .... NT$100 (S$4.30) per head for the A4 size.... and NT$200 per head for the A3 size....

We saw that it was charged at S$38 per head at clarke quey lo... our 2 heads in one portrait only cost NT$400 (S$17.30)

THE artist

a very good boy who maintained his signature smile throughout the 20 minutes

Mr Ang looks quite cute without his crooked teeth hor??? braces time.... =)

i was the 'cant sit still' one.... "角度又歪了噢" the artist repeated at least 3 - 5 times .... and even foretold me that my picture may not look like me... hahaha..... but i really can't keep my smile on and eyes opened for the entire 20 minutes lo.... facial muscles so 酸, sun rays shining into my eyes and sweat dripping down everywhere... =S

洪爸爸 and 洪妈妈 luv luv their portraits oh....they said make them look like qing han and zhen zhen oh..... =D

cancelled the trip to the National Palace as we were all too tired from just sitting down and having our portraits drawn in the "shade"....

Clubbing in Taipei @ Lava

Day 5 - Clubbing at Lava Club
(16 June 2012)

heard many interesting stories about the clubbing scene in taipei so shortlisted a few (lava club, room 18, luxy, spark 18) and finally decided to try out lava club at #B1, Neo 19 building. We took a cab (cost abt S$10) from ximending cos from forum, it seems to be a distance away from its nearest metro station, Taipei City Hall....

NT$1000 (S$43.30) per pax on a Saturday night with 3 free drinks.... their free entry for both gals and guys before 11 does not apply to foreigners.... =(

we were two of the first first ??? customers and were given these free movie tickets ... but we left these at the bar counter as we had  already watched it and the movie would only be released in taipei on 29 june... which was two weeks after we depart.... =S

our first 2 drinks.... bailey milk (yum yum) for me and screw driver for mr ang

next 4 drinks... their local beer... very light and smooth.... =)

din realised that it was so blur till i uploaded it... guess the camera got drunk before the two of us... wahahahhaa...

the crowd at approx 12midnight.... music was english hiphop and was really quite good from 10pm onwards....how did we know leh??? cos being typical kaisu singaporeans, Mr Ang and I reached at approx 1010pm.... =S..... anyway, the crowd only started to stream in around 11pm and the place got really packed around midnight....

stage dancers getting ready for their first dance at approx 1230am....second dance was at approx 115am..... 4 dancers on stage.... all very pretty (got sweet kind of pretty, got sexy kind of pretty) ..... the one on the left is my favourite..... so sweet and mad chio lo....

din take video of the whole dance cos i want to watch her dance live and not thru my camera lens.... =D.... she is just damn chio la....

the 'noisy' guy behind can go on and on and on....he's really good at 带动-ing 气氛 oh....

more photos of lava club in their facebook page for the night can be found here..... see if u can spot me and Mr Ang in the crowd....heee....

left at 130am, after the second dance cos my eyes were starting to tear from all the smoke.... everywhere was a smoking area... =S ... and was disappointed that we din get to see anything interesting on the ground.... maybe we left too early....the ppl there not drunk and not high enough....  happening stuff only happens when ppl are more drunk and high!!!!

took cab back to minsu @ ximending area which cost us NT$220 (NT$9.50) ....

Meeky Yang (driver for day 3) strongly recommended that we HAVE to try taiwan 'cup cup' noodles so we dropped by 7-11 and bought 2 .... the one on the left was Mr Ang's and the other one was mine.....

mine was so so so so much more yummier .... 3 packs of seasoning and 1 big pack of REAL PORK MEAT....

Mr Ang 'cooking' our cup cup noodles....
this hot (boiling) and cold water cooler is found in the living room of our minsu.. =)

my yummy 'cup cup' noodles..... really was super yummy..... see the  meat??? ......
