Taipei 101

Day 5 - Taipei 101
(16 June 2012)

Brunch at:
recommended by zhuan.... it's to the right of Guting station exit 6...

Giant dumpling soup noodles for Mr Ang

猪扒炒饭 for me

鸡片炒饭 for 洪爸爸

酸辣汤面 for a very happy 洪妈妈 who is always so smiley one.... likey.... =)

took the metro from Guting station to Taipei City Hall once more.... by right, there's a shuttle bus from City Hall Metro station to Taipei 101... by left, there's also feeder services that cost NT$15... since we chanced upon the latter first, then just board lo...
Taipei 101...it's so tall, its tip is in the clouds....it's the tallest building in the world since 2004 until the Burj Khalifa in Dubai took over in 2010....

so expensive..... =P

like most touristy places, they will get visitors to pose then hopefully wishes that we will buy the super expensive photos that they took for us.... but no, no, no.... not me.... heee.....

this screen is found in the lift... the floor/height/speed and timer will change as the lift moves  up ..... no wonder it's the faster lift in the world ....  it only took 35 seconds to go from the 5th floor ticket counter to the 89th floor.... btw, it took around 45 seconds to descend...

free audio devices that explains what is seems at the different corners of the observatory deck on the 89th floor can be borrowed from the entrance...very user friendly.... =)

Can't see much actually cos it was drizzling once again....sianx to the max....

Luckily they have a super duper cute mascot, the Damper baby,  who kept me entertained.... heee

Damper Babies .... cutesy much much oh...

So what's does damper baby signify leh???? ... Well, a damper is this huge round thing below... it's used to reduce earthquake shock  and strong wind by up to 40%.... how does it work??? read here..... it's too technical for me to simplify and explain it... =P.... me no engineering student oh....

pic taken from the 89th floor

pic taken from the 88th floor

there's an outdoor observatory deck on the 91st floor but as it was raining....
stupid rain!!!

it was still pouring after we were done with Taipei 101...needed another meeting place to decide what should we do... head back to minsu or proceed on....

saw the buy 1 get 1 free promotion at Cold Stone Creamery and decided that it shall be our meeting place.... meeting over dessert...yeah yeah....ice-cream in the rain....woohoo..... hahahaha...

NT$240 (S$10.40) for 2 ....
is it really cheap???? nvm... what's more impt is that it did made us all very happy ..... super yummilious... especially the lychee sorbet with mango cube on the left...
