Wedding Favours

Wedding Favours

the first time we went down to peony jade for the ROM package, oriental couple shot glass (shown below) was the only option given to us as our wedding flavour... me not really in favour of it leh cos why would ppl need shot glass for??? and it's so common.... no likey...

even when we upgraded the ROM package to a full scale wedding of 20 tables, the wedding favour choices available still cannot make it.... they are the usual couple keychains, saucers, shot glasses, luggage tags etc...

actually had one (actually 2) item(s) in mind liao when i did my previous net surfing and Mr Ang agreed to it but due to the increase in guests whom we will be inviting from 80 to 200, we will abit hestitant to get it liao as they are not cheap... nearly wanted to settle for choosing the luggage tag as wedding favour...

...but ... but ... but.... i still like the one i sourced out for...so after "negotiating" with Mr Ang and promising i will sell ALL the 200 luggage tags which peony jade will be giving us online after the wedding to offset the cost of the wedding favours, he gave the green light to go ahead with the ordering of the following 2 items... hippy!!!.... no choice lo...have to get his approval first since he's the big big sponsor for the whole wedding.... hahaha....

and the 2 items i have in mind are.....

...A "Suite" Life! playing cards...

A set of round shaped playing cards that has the four suites depicted as wedding icons - heart, diamond ring, flowers and wedding cake. The back of the cards shows a whimsy sort of castle with the words "A "Suite" Life". This pack of 54 cards arrives in a matching black and white gift box with the 4 icons at the top closure. "A "Suite" Life" is printed on one side panel while the message "Thank you for your "Suite" presence" is printed on another.

...A Love Story playing cards...

An unforgettable romance, soft and tender words of love… In a heartwarming way, 52 unique love quotes are shared, one on each playing card. The whimsically illustrated couple on the cards and matching blue or pink gift box adds a fun and youthful touch to your event. A set of 54 playing cards in a gift box, approximately L10.0cm x W1.0cm x H8.0cm.

Sweet little act - Mega Jump

Sweet act by Mr Ang

after being addicted to 'cookie dozer' in our i-touch for the last few weeks, i finally cleared most of the level and the game was kinda getting boring liao... hahaha... and the next game that gotta my addiction is this...tatatata.... mega jump....

a game where u (the character) jump jump jump to collect collects coins and stars... a very short (few seconds to at most a minute plus game for each round) game is very addictive.... =)

8 out the 10 duper cute characters available in the game... and we need 1500MP to unlock each of the characters....so what sweet little act did Mr Ang did leh???.... he played the game the whole of yesterday so as to earn enough MP to unlock one particular cute character (KoKo the koala) which i told him that i likey.... although one could argue is that he also like to play the game la... but i still think it's very sweet of him to give me this small small surprise at the end of the day when i reached home from work... =)... at least it brightened up my night for that day....

thank you dear dear... =*

Japanese school open house

Open House @ Japanese School

lydia's invitation led Mr Ang and I to the Japanese school at upper Changi road north last Sunday (22 August 2010)... a super long journey all the way from woodlands to changi took us more than 1.5 hours... even more tiring was the fact that both of us had two tuition each since 930am....

Alex passed us the tickets and i eagerly went to look for lydia who lent me a set of Yukata.... very happy to see that it was in a very nice green and purple combi...with flowery prints... =) .... a group of japanese ladies were helping everyone to put on our yukata.... which was really quite complicated......

1st string to secure the length of the yukata.... 2nd string to secure the overlapping collar and finally the waist belt like thingy to be tied into a bow at the back....

Mr Ang refused to try on the guy's version.... i think he's shy or he thinks he's too man for it.... hahaha.... it's was rather hot wearing the yukata but i had fun.... =) and i thought i look pretty cute in it too... hahaha...though my eye bags look horrible though....sad...=(
my little purple bow
(i wonder how did she tied it into a bow.... amazing!)

trying to act like a demure japanese.... heee

very tired us... =*

we queued up for at least 30 minutes to buy a box of noodles & egg---inefficient staff manning the booth.... made Mr Ang so grouchy.... he was hungry and hot and impatient and i had to pacify him not to make any complains..... hahaha....
(A hungry Mr Ang can be a very angry Mr Ang)
... the crowd at the various stalls...

festival goers joining in the 'fusion' dance (japanese folk dance in singapore style) ...Mr Ang and I were too tired to join in the crowd in the beginning but eventually we gave in to the enthu crowd and joined in one of their last few dances.... was having so much laughter as i watched Mr Ang's legs and hands get all tangle up... think sportmen have stiff hands and legs and no left right coordination one.... hahahhaha....

Mr Ang's new phone

Mr Ang's new phone

Mr Ang's phone has been in a very very bad shape for the last few months... he needs to use a rubber band to secure it so that the sim card remain detectable...

comments such as those below were very common among his friends... hahaha....

"you buay paiseh to take out to use ah?"
"you got use something to cover your phone when u use it anot?"
"even if your phone is on the floor, the bangala also wun pick it up lo"

but being a catty man, he really dun wanna waste the money to get a non camera phone since his ord date (23rd August 2010) was "nearing" since a few months ago

so finally on 20th august, he bought his new phone together with his er jie.... and like a little kid with a new toy.... he damn show off lo....

"dear dear, it's 8 mega pixels phone leh... got free 8 gigabytes memory card leh.... very chio red colour somemore hor???" and went on to show me the slideshow functions, the speakers, take photos to put into contact list and so on and so forth...

but can't blame him also la... the last time he owns a normal camera phone was like 2 years ago???? hahaha....

so last but not least, i wanna say "dear dear, your new phone is damn cool leh... and look extremely cute with the glow in the dark "old 爷爷 ang" attached to it"... =)

finally we can hang the "old 奶奶 ang" and "old 爷爷 ang" handphone accessories together liao... =)

Party @ McDonald

Party @ McDonald

saw thru facebook photos that Paul had his 29th birthday party at mcdonald ... such a cute way to celebrate his last birthday that starts with the number '2'... heee.....

i also want.... then can 顺便 distribute the wedding invites.... cos i really wanna meet up with each and everyone of my friends whom i m gonna invite to my wedding cos each and everyone of them are those whom are still in contact de lo.... =) ... but it would be so tiring if i meet the different groups separately within that one month lo.... cos i will usually like spend one full day or at least half a day with whoever i meet up with de...cos being a 'talkative' person, i do need my time to talk to my friends mah.... hahahaha....

so browse browse http://www.mcdonalds.com.sg/whatson_birthdayparties_faq.html .... it's at $9 per person...includes
  • a happy meal each (a bit insufficient for adult's appetite hor??? )
  • a gift per guest (should be those mac toys which i dun like leh)
  • a party hostress to conduct games (i dun think anyone is interested to play their games lo..abit the childish kind)
  • 1.5 hours use of the venue (abit short hor???)

so decided to put off the idea of having a party there.... but maybe can still arrange a big gathering for all 50+ friends to meet up at one of the mcdonald on a sunday afternoon.... hahaha.... wonder if they do reservation..... heee... =)

our favourite game

Our Favourite Game

cookies, doughuts, pies, cheesecakes and chocolates for me and you... =)
super addictive game in our i-touch... =)

a game where you have to collect cookies (1 cookie for every 12 minutes of offline activities or 30 seconds of online activity at the entry level) to push other cookies off the rack in exchanges for 'power cookies' and 'dessert treats' such as cheesecakes, doughnuts, chocolates and pies which will unlock levels for more powerful plays.... hahaha....

i was having so much fun with it that i refused to let Mr Ang play with it at home... cos it would disrupt my cookie collections... hahaha.... so he have to make do with another similar game called 'coin dozer' instead... hee... but every now and then when he brought the i-touch out with him, i know he will secretly play with my game....

wedding favour for kids

Wedding favour for kids & kiddish adults

since Mr Ang increased the number of tables to 20, we can now invite all the little ones too... =) ... very happy cos when i was surfing surfing the net for wedding related stuff during the june holidays, i chanced upon wedding favours just for kids... activity books with colouring pages, connect the dots etc and a box of crayons... but as at that time, we could only have 8 tables, which means no kiddos allow (except for xinying's marcus), i could only give up the idea...

but now...wahaha... all of Mr Ang's nieces and nephews, cousins and a few more toddlers from my mummy already friends can all attend liao... =) ... but me not going to buy it...me decided to make it myself.... =)

so did more surfing today for more ideas and completed my own wedding activity booklet with colouring activities for the very young ones...

spot the difference

maze

still have word search and word scramble for the older kiddos and the adults who are young at heart.... hee... There's even a crossword puzzle to test how well you know the two of us oh...

so fun and so exciting.... hope the kids and everyone at the wedding will enjoy doing the activities... hee...

sheraton hotel national day buffet lunch

Another reason why i love being a Singaporean

as i get to enjoy 45% disount at the Internation buffet lunch at sheraton hotel ... it's only for weekday lunch though... till 31 august.... luckily i am on afternoon course today and Mr Ang was on leave... so we made a reservation at 12nn and we were one of the first customers to attack all the food counters.... hahahaha....

(baby lobsters and mussels)

(prawns, oysters and cold crabs)

(sushi)

the sushi were a bit cold and not as nice as those from ichibon sushi... hahaha.... there was a sashimi counter too... but as both Mr Ang and I are not into raw food.... we gave it a miss...

the chinese dishes corner....

stir fried broccoli, duck, chicken, fish, fried you tiao, chilli crab, hokkien mee, roast beef etc etc

a cake which we destroyed...we were the first customer that put the knife thru it.... hahahahha.....

alcohol and fruits on the inside of the cake and coconut shedding on the outside....i dun really like it.... the dessert corner also have lots of cut fruits, apple and pear bread pudding (super yummy), durian puffs, cheese cakes, green tea swiss roll, tiramisu, almond apricot pudding, almond + longan, tau suan etc etc...

actually there were a lot more food counter but i was too busy eating so din really take lots of photos....hahaha.... and we forgot to bring his camera out so had to make do with my 3.2 mega pix camera phone oh... =)

Mr Ang had a great crab feast and this is what i got as a result... that violent man splitter splatter his cold crab onto my cheek (saw the white speck of thing??).... hahahaha....

Mr Ang loves osyters and cold crabs and baby lobsters... he really make our money well spent...hahaha... i think he ate at least a total of 12 osyters, 5 baby losters and 6 crab pincer???

Me: How's the laksa???
Him: u try...(and fed me a mouthful of the laksa soup)
Me: hmmm..... i like...very strong taste.... will u be able to finish it???
Him: why not??
Me: it's spicy isnt it??? (Mr Ang can't take spices)
Him: No.... not very spicy....

and he finished up the whole bowl of laksa himself...although i thought i hinted very obviously that i like it too.... humph.... i took a bowl for myself after that... =P

ice cream corner.... vanilla (okay..not bad).... rum & rasin (very alcoholy... joyce will love it) and our favourite espresso flavour....

we finished a total of 6 scoops of espresso ice cream... heee

a very satisfied us waiting for the train at newton mrt to go home to sleep.... the heavy rain made me change my mind about going for the course...hahaha.... gonna take mc later instead... =P

my incentive to stay the size i am

...My incentive to stay the size i am NOW...

today's dinner was great at ichiban sushi cos Mr Ang said something that made me very very happy...

me: in order not to waste my 4 wedding dresses... i have decided to tailor them short after the wedding and re-wear them again on each of our wedding anniversary....

Mr Ang: that's good.... if you can wear them, i will give u $1000 for every year that u can get into them okay....

me: really????..... oki oki oki oki oki oki.... onx u....deal!!!!

i finally found my incentive to be less ba ba liao.... hahahaha.... and Mr Ang say, that the reward will increase by $1000 after every 5 years..... additional bonus leh.... heee.....

@ the Istana

...A hot hot day @ the Istana...

this blog is gonna be somewhat different....cos it's gonna start with the end and end with the start...hahaha...cos i am very lazy to rearrange the photos....they somehow appeared with the first photo i uploaded at the bottom of the page....=s

the 2 self made pin badges that Mr Ang and I made.... mine is the rickshaw while his is the cola... can tell that both of us are not very artistic ah.... can ur spot the special date which both of us had written on our badges???

the volunteers helping us to press our small colouring pages into pin badges.... this action requires a great deal of strength on the lever oh.... i bet they will end up with super sore arms at the end of today...

me busy colouring and trying to touch up on Mr Ang's one.... he really anyhow anyhow colour one lo.... trying to 敷衍 me only.... but at least he did.... heee..... always willing to entertain my nonsense and childish request.... i think we are the rare two adults who were doing the pin badges.... the rest were all kids.... hahahaha....

it was really hot colouring under the hot hot sun....i had endless sweat drops dripping all over my face lo.... there should have made the tentage bigger to provide shades for the participants also mah... must complain.... no no no...is call feedback.... heee

anyway, the box of coloured pencils we were using was part of the goody bag which we received....together with a pencil, an eraser, a $2 discount voucher from breadtalk, a bottle of newater, a rasin bun and a packet of biscuit =)

beautiful trees that line the road leading to the istana main building ... might be a great place to take pre - wedding photos.... IF it is open to the public la....

another beautiful area...

me in front of the istana main building.... have to pay $2 to get in.... have to pay...so we din go in.... hahaha.... it was free entry for all singaporeans and permanent residents to enter the istana compound though.... that's y we were there.... heee..... a free place to spend the day... =)

kids climbing one of the many low branches trees in istana.... how i wish our kids get to do this more often in everyday life too.... so much fun in nature.... a pity kids dun get to do this much or at all nowadays.... i will try to make sure my 红苹果 and 红炸弹 will have lots of fun in nature .... or i should say i will make Mr Ang make sure that our 红苹果 and 红炸弹 will have lots of fun in nature ... hahaha....

Mr Ang stuffing the whole rasin bun into his mouth.... a hungry dino is a hungry dino...

our standard pose on all our outings.... =)

me browsing the many many art work put up at the istana.... how come i was not inform of such activities leh??? hmmm.....
